Auchi (left): Calm, constructive dialogue is the basis for good relations

President of AAO thanked for essential role in releasing French hostages in Iraq.

PARIS - Arab and Muslim Community Associations in France organised a reception party to honour Mr Nadhmi Auchi, President of the Anglo Arab Organisation in appreciation of his great contribution and the essential role he played in the release of the French hostages recently kidnapped in Iraq.
The reception was held in the Paris Mosque and was hosted by the Chairman of the France Supreme Council of the Islamic Religion and Dean of the Paris Mosque Professor Dalil Abu Bakr.

 

In his speech, Professor Abu Bakr, praised Mr Auchi's role and the relentless efforts he made to solve a deep crisis that may have negatively affected the Muslim community in France. Professor Abu Bakr referred to the importance of cooperation between Arab and Muslim communities throughout Europe, in search for a cooperation format, now that their members have exceeded twenty million people holding different European nationalities.

Professor Abu Bakr also spoke of the great humanitarian, cultural and building activities undertaken by the Paris mosque council and the need to expand the assistance to meet the huge commitments burden of the Muslim and Arab communities in France.

Mr Abdurahman Aldahmanm president of the Democratic Muslims Union and the National Secretary of the ruling party in charge of relations with Arab and Islamic Associations inside and outside France, spoke of the importance of this occasion and the honouring of Mr Nadhmi Auchi. He urged a continuation of this unitary trend.

Mr Malek Abuzaid, Head of the Franco-Arab Organisation and the FrenchArab Federation welcomed Mr Auchi in Paris. He stressed that this honouring aims to establish a solid basis for cooperation between Muslim and Arab communities in Europe adding that the membership of people like Mr Nadhmi Auchi in this Associations could only be a strong push for a promising future.

On his part, Mr Auchi thanked the associations which called for his honouring. He stressed that his priorities are dictated by the common interest to strengthen cooperation, friendship and respect between representatives of Muslim and Arab communities in Europe on one hand and societies they live in and work on the other.

He said: "calm and constructive dialogue is the basis for good relations that serve common Arab interests especially the issues of Palestine and Iraq".
Khadija Khali, Head of the French Muslim Women Union, made a speech in which she thanked Mr Auchi for the efforts he made to set up solidarity committees in Beirut where they started the campaign to free French hostages held in Iraq.

At the end of the reception party Mr Mohamad Aljundi - one the former French hostages freed in Iraq - made a speech in which he tanked Mr Auchi and French Muslim and Arab associations on behalf of his colleagues Christian Chini and Georges Marbrino, for their essential role in winning their release.

The reception was also attended by representatives of all French political parties in addition to Mr Pierre Sijakali the special Advisor to President Jacques Chirac and Abdurahman Aldahman the special Advisor to the Interior Minister Nicholas Sarkozy and a number of Heads of departments in various French ministries.
